Mori Music Finds: Mindy Gledhill

Today's Mori Music find is Mindy Gledhill, an Indie Singer/Songwriter. Her lyrics are whimsical, charming, and sweet. And her music is uplifting, and pleasant. Mindy's music is my go-to happy music.

Have you heard of Mindy Gledhill? If so, how did you like her? If not, I hope you enjoy!

Mori Girl Vs. Dolly Kei: How to spot the differences.

(This post was updated in December 2018.)

In one of my previous posts, I talked about the differences between Mori Girl and Natural Kei. In this post, I'll take a look at Dolly Kei, another sister style to Mori Girl.

Dolly Kei is a Japanese fashion style inspired by vintage and antique clothing, Grimm's fairytales, the Victorian era, and various other vintage clothing styles from eastern Europe. Dolly kei consists of bold patterns, lots of different textures, fur, embroidery, tapestries, lace, flowers, layering, and various other dark and creepy inspirations. The color-palate tends to be deep, dark jewel-tones and black although some coords feature light and airy whites and pastels (similar to Mori Girl and Cult Party). The over-all look is unusual, creepy, cute, and hauntingly lovely.

Personally, I find Dolly Kei is the easiest sister style to differentiate from Mori Girl. Mori Girl, even Dark Mori Girl, has more of a soft and innocent feel, whereas Dolly Kei gives off a more mature, dark, creepy feel.

Just like Natural Kei, Mori Girl and Dolly Kei can be crossed over. Although, it is much more rare to see Mori/Dolly hybrids.
