Mori Movie Finds: The Secret Garden 1987

Today I have another movie find for you all, this time one of my childhood favorites: The Secret Garden (1987 Hallmark Version).

There are many versions of this classic tale by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and all of them are worth watching. However, my all-time favorite version to date is the Hallmark adaptation. There are certainly ones with better quality camera work, or prettier costumes, but this movie has its own charm and, in my opinion, is the truest to the themes and the feeling of the original novel. It has a great portrayal of the characters, the manor feels mysterious, as does the garden, and it never fails to pull me in every time I watch it! Plus, I love their depiction of Dicken! He's one of my favorite characters of all time, so it's great to see him portrayed well!

You can actually find the entire movie on youtube at the moment, so I'd recommend giving it a watch if you're interested. It's an enjoyable watch and a charming story!

Have you seen this, or any version, of The Secret Garden? If so, how did you like it? If not, I hope you enjoy it!

Mori Movie Finds: The Secret World of Arrietty

Hello, my deers! I know I often say that I don't really watch many movies, but I still have a few more recommendations that I've been meaning to share for a while now. So, here is another one for you today!

Today's Mori Movie Find is The Secret World of Arrietty, a Studio Ghibli film. While Studio Ghibli is very well known for its films such as My Neighbor Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle (among many other amazing animated titles), I have found that most people are unaware of this little gem that the studio produced. The movie is based on a book series called The Littles by John Peterson. Growing up, I was a big fan of the tv series based off of these books and I watched almost every episode. So this movie had a bit of a nostalgia factor for me, and I was delighted to see this fantastical world come to life in a new and enchanting way.

The movie's plot is charming, and the scenery, as in any Studio Ghibli movie, is absolutely beautiful. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Mori Movies Finds: Christopher Robin

Hello, my deers! I have another mori movie find for you today! Today's post is all about the new Christopher Robin film.

It's been quite a while since I last shared a movie with you all, but last month I went to see Christoper Robin in theaters with my family, and I absolutely fell in love with it and knew I had to share.

I grew up watching Winnie the Pooh, so the movie was very nostalgic to me. The plot is charming and adorable, and suitable for every age. It keeps true to the spirit of the franchise, but also brings new ideas and a unique story. The whole film has a spirit of whimsy and childhood fancy, and makes you feel as if you were right alongside the characters exploring the Hundred Acre Woods. The beautiful nature scenery is amazing as well!

If you're looking for a feel good movie, I'd highly recommend this film. You'll walk away from it feeling happy and content, I guarantee it.

Mori Movie Finds: Miss Potter

One of my favorite Mori Girl movies of all time is Miss Potter. The movie is based on the life of Beatrix Potter, who wrote and illustrated children's books in Victorian London. The movie's plot is sweet and simple in and of itself, but the scenery is what makes the movie so memorable. It is set in the London countryside mostly, and the natural scenery is breathtaking.

Beatrix Potter herself lived a very Mori Girl like life. She ran a farm, enjoyed illustrating nature, and spent most of her time exploring nature.

The story focuses on Beatrix trying to bring success to her book, run her farm, and has a charming romance plot.

I'm usually not a fan of romances, but I feel that this one was well executed. There is a lot else to the story and the while the romance is essential to the story, it is not the main concern all of the time.
All in all, it is a charming story for all ages.
